Mary Moylan's brogue is rooted in her home city of Cork, Ireland. She transported her enthusiastic feminism to the town of St. Joseph's, in Newfoundland and Labrador, where she won the hearts of locals and became their mayor. Naturally, this writer instigated the foundation of a local library.
A published writer and playwright, her musical drama "Spancel" has inhabited stages across the province and the Green Isle. (She was even invited to a reception as Mayor of St. Josephs by the Lord Mayor of Cork.)
