Mission Statement
The Fogbank Audio Coworking Group Inc. is an organization that aims to strengthen local voices through an accessible space for sharing skills and mentoring podcasters in Newfoundland and Labrador.
We are incorporated as a non-profit organization in Newfoundland & Labrador to:
- Develop local audio production capabilities in our membership through mentorship and collaboration, including building skills in interviewing, audio editing, story development, fundraising and monetizing, and related media skills;
- Develop a representation of St. John's and Newfoundland and Labrador through the unique voices and interests of our members using narrowcast media such as podcasts and locative audio, combined with photography, art, and other media to convey diverse local stories, folklore, and culture with a focus on spoken word;
- Help raise awareness of marginalized communities and build enfranchisement through promotion and distribution of audio works;
- Promote respect and inclusivity between coworkers and interviewees in a safe environment, building professional relations and cooperation with members of local community groups, and fostering budding talent;
- Be an active, environmentally and socially responsible community member.
Do you see yourself in our philosophy? We're looking for new podcasters - Apprentices, Practitioners and Masters alike.
